Today, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) released the Public Notification on upcoming RSPO Certification Initial Assessment of KUD Tani Subur (Koperasi Unit Desa) and its independent palm oil growers, in Pangkalan Tiga Village, Kotawaringin Barat District, Central Kalimantan Province.
The RSPO certification assessment is scheduled to take place from July 17-21, 2017. The assessment will be carried out on the entity KUD Tani Subur and its smallholders. Guided through the certification process by INOBU in partnership with Unilever, KUD Tani Subur is a cooperative organisation of independent smallholders committed to improving the welfare of its members and promoting sustainable palm oil in Central Kalimantan Province. The cooperative has more than 190 independent smallholders and 326.40 hectares under plantation.
This RSPO public announcement is a major milestone in INOBU’s pilot smallholder certification program, which includes 600 small-scale growers of palm oil.
