Iman Santoso

Iman Santoso is currently the Senior Terrestrial Policy Adviser for Conservation International. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Insitut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) majoring in forestry and obtained a Master of Forestry from Michigan State University. Prior to working with Conservation International, he had worked with the Ministry of Forestry since 1979. His publications focus on forest zoning, land use and forest management. In his long career with the ministry, he served as head of several divisions before becoming the Director of Social, Economic and Forest Policy for the Forest Research and Development Agency (FORDA) in 2007 and the Director of Forest Utilization Planning in 2009. He was also appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Center for International Forest Research (CIFOR) until 2013. Before he retired from the Ministry of Forestry, Iman was the Director General of FORDA and Director General of Forest Production Development.
