Luzimeire Ribeiro de Moura Carreira is the Secretary of Environment and Water Resources for the Brazilian State of Tocantins. She is a native of Porto Nacional (TO). She holds a degree in Environmental Engineering and a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT). In the scope of public management, she has experience in strategic environmental planning focusing on water resources management, environmental sanitation and climate change. She is a career servant of the Municipality of Palmas, where she acted as Environment Director from 2001 to 2004. She has actively participated in the creation and implementation of Palmas Municipal Environment Policy and is a co-author of the Palmas Municipal Climate Change Policy. Meire worked from 2009 to 2010 in the Secretary of Environment and Water Resources of Tocantins office, as an advisor on Projects and Fundraising.
